The Resistors Bicycling Club is riding in the 18th and final 2026 Tour du Rouge Charity Fundraiser for The Arc to be held in May of this year.
The Tour du Rouge is a charity 540 mile, six day bicycle ride from Houston, Texas to New Orleans, Louisiana to support The Arc. It has been incredibly successful in supporting The Arc, the largest national community-based nonprofit organization advocating for and with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and serving them and their families.
This will be the Resistors 8th Tour Du Rouge. We are riding, with purpose, for Matthew from Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry from Fairfax, Virginia, Ed, Erin, and Adam from Houston, Texas and so many other individuals with disabilities across this country who, despite the love of family and friends, are routinely overlooked by society. The Resistors has raised many thousands of dollars in previous Tours and Race Across America in 2021 and 2022. We have already started our indoor and outdoor training rides in support of this grueling Tour. About 90 miles per day.
A little bit about The Arc
The Arc is a nationwide non-profit organization formed in 1950 to advocate for the inclusion of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in all aspects of society. The Arc operates at the national, state, and local levels. The Arc works in collaboration with other agencies and organizations to facilitate the development of a wide array of options available to individuals and their families in our community. The Arc is a member-based organization that relies on membership and program fees, contributions from corporations, foundations, individuals, and contracts to implement and expand programs and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. The Arc has been instrumental in the creation of virtually every program service, right and benefit available to people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities across the United States.
We ask that you please take 5 minutes to join the Resistors and the many other teams and riders supporting The Arc by supporting real change. Your donation will support The Arc to make a difference and help children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fuller, richer lives—where they are included, valued, and empowered to reach their potential.
Even a small donation goes a long way in helping us reach our goal for The Arc. Any amount helps…even $10. Your donations will carry us on our ride and your donation is tax deductible!
NOTE - For donations of $500 or more you will receive a signed jersey from the riders and you will be included in the donors list printed on the jersey.
