Four years ago I was inspired by how committed families are to supporting and loving their family members impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). I got to witness this first hand at church in our Belong ministries. Then my heart ached when I learned that Texas was dead last, 50 out of 50 states, at providing programs to support our families facing these challenges. So I decided I wanted to do what I could to do something about it. Yet, I know that my impact is dampened when attempted on my own. Conversely, it is magnified when others join me in the effort to raise awareness, drive legislative change, and raise money to support these families via The Arc. Please make a difference and join me in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us build a future of inclusive work and play for all individuals with intellectual disabilities via The Arc.
Personally I am going through a significant amount of changes in my life. Thus, it is not only possible, but rather it is probable that this will be the last time I am able to dedicate myself to a biking fundraiser of this nature. However, I would like us to go out with a bang should this be my last opportunity. I am dedicating nearly two months of my life this year to riding across the country as well as the Tour du Rouge in hopes of raising $50,000 for The Arc. I would be honored if you would join me in this effort by making a donation to the cause. Every single dollar donated goes directly to The Arc to fund their efforts to support those families dealing with intellectual and developmental disabilities
